2023 CAS Youth Project
Our Youth Project was officially launched on Saturday 11 March at Cantell School Gym. Over 80 participants attended and have had a taste of some of these activities during the launch. We will have a series of weekend sessions starting from 18 March, involving Kungfu, Dancing, Rubik's cube, Yoyo, Steel-tongue drum, Chinese drum lessons and games sessions.

CNY Global Dinner - 12th Feb
Over 100 C.A.S members and families who had performed and helped stage the numerous Chinese New Year events, gathered together at the Global Buffet Restaurant to celebrate the success of all their hard work.

Lantern Festival - Guildhall
Southampton's Lord Mayor, Sheriff, the Mayor of Eastleigh and other dignitaries. were present in the Guildhall Square to enjoy a 3 hour Chinese Lantern Festival.
Various Dragon, Lion dances and other performances marked the end of the New Year of the Rabbit Festivities.

Lantern Crafts - John Hansard Gallery
The Southampton John Hansard Gallery was the venue for hundreds of visitors to experience numerous demonstrations of traditional Chinese crafts and hobbies - including music, lantern making, caligraphy, cartoon sketching, paper cutting, Chinese Chess and general knowledge quiz.

CNY - Fan Painting
Jean Romsey conducted a free 'Fan Painting' class as part of the Grace Lau project of 'Portraits In a Chinese Studio',
a public art project re-creating 19th century Chinese portraits,
sponsored by the Southampton John Hansard Gallery.

CNY - West Quay Concert
The highly successful 4-hour public concert held at the West Quay Shopping was attended by civic and public body representatives. Numerous acts were performed by members of C.A.S., Waterside Lion Dance Club, Wutan Kungfu School, University Students, Confucius Institute, Art Asia and Eastleigh Asian Community. - It was a cultural extravaganza compered by Ms. Yanni Xie, Mr. Chris Tsoi and Mrs. Kelly Tsoi.

CNY - Guildhall Square Display
The C.A.S. held a lion and dragon dance event at the Southampton Guildhall Square in the morning of Sunday 22/1/2023 before proceeding to the CNY celebration Concert in West Quay Shopping Mall.

Xmas Party No 2 - 2022
Those unable to attend the main Christmas party held an extra get-together at the Southampton Christadelphinians Church Hall where Michael, Vikkie, Jean and Jane arranged a number of musical and dance performances. Gifts of food hampers, provided by the Rotary Club of Southampton Solent, were presented to the over 70s

Xmas Party No 1 - 2022
Members and families attended a full house for the CAS Christmas Lunch held at the Swan Public House in December. Carol singing was led by the 'Jean Romsey Singers.' David Ngai played the part of Father Christmas and gave gifts to all the children. Bags full of groceries from the Rotary Club of Southampton Solent were given as gifts to CAS members over 70 years of age.
